Two South Florida Entrepreneurs Will Compete On ABC’s ‘Shark Tank'

by Holly Gambrell Oct 19, 2017 04:34 PM

The South Florida inventors of the Human Bobber line of multipurpose personal flotation devices are making their national debut on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” a show where budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to life.

The contestants present their ideas to five judges (the sharks) and try to convince one of the sharks to invest money in their idea. When more than one shark decides they want to invest, a bidding war begins, driving up the price of the investment.

Justin Rietema of Oakland Park and Doug Schultz of Coconut Creek will appear on the show to pitch the sharks on the Bottoms Up, a dual-purpose life vest that can be inverted and worn like a pair of shorts. They will also pitch the Scuttlebutt, a saddle-like float that also can be used as an in-water lounge chair or kayak seat.

Rietema and Schultz are landscape architects and find the time to grow their business at night and on the weekends. A pivotal milestone in their business was in 2016 when Bottoms Up received U.S. Coast Guard approval as a type III flotation aid suitable for rescues in calm waters.

The duo will appear on “Shark Tank” on Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. on ABC. For more information on their business, visit h3osports.com.
